cold january
it is cold outside. very cold, and dark. it's january and for the northern hemisphere that means - winter. for the most parts i do like winters. i like the snow. it brings quietness. the first untouched snowfall covers the ground with a refreshing cleanliness. but then, the cold sets in. the deep, penetrating cold that makes it hard to stay warm, even in my cozy little house.
i choose to hibernate...

drops of water
despite it being january, and all signs of typical canadian january it is, i try to make my own exotic haven. green plants, candles, and red wine are all important accessories in order to make it happen.
showering green plants is refreshing, not only for the plants, but also for me. a showered plant seems so clean, bright green, and healthy and all this good positive energy is fed back to me... right?!

life with a dog
there is much that can be said about life with a dog. shedding is one of them. i can't actually believe that i'm sharing this part of my life with the world wide web, but i am. having a dog that sheds, like crazy may i add, i have surrendered to the fact that the household now also consists of dust bunnies. at least they don't bark - yet.

my vice – coffee
there is something about a cup of coffee. i am most likely to have a cup of coffee when i have time to sit down and relax, so i can enjoy it and wind down. wind down with a cup of coffee may seem like a paradox to some however, i have to reach the age where coffee actually winds me up. i can easily have a cup of coffee before going to bed and still sleep through the night.
i enjoy my coffee the best in the morning, before i get on with my day. coffee and today’s news and i’m set to meet the world. that is, after i have showered.
coffee has to be black though, and no sugar. sugar and milk are for those who do not really like coffee, just like ketchup is for those who really do not like your food.

new day, new opportunities
i am not one for new year resolutions. if you can't start or quit something any time of the year, why would you be able to make this change on january 1? i guess january 1 is like starting all over again - a new year with new opportunities.
the objective of this blog is to use images more so than words, at least try to. at times i do believe i have so much to say and my photographic abilities are far from saying it all in one frame. what is most likely to happen is that pictures and thoughts won't coincide, so i will try to leave the blog to the pictures, at least for now.
