mystical/mythical landscape

cooler weather is quickly approaching, something the icicles in this picture is proof of. this was taken at night, down by the creek. last night, while i was out with my dog, i noticed icicles forming on the branches that were hanging over the water, i thought it looked cool and brought my tripod down to see what i could make out of it. here is one of the (better) results (iso 100, f9, 90sec exp. 55mm).

i don't get it

what's a tire doing in lake superior, at a conservation area? it may have drifted there on its own, but still, how did it get into lake superior in the first place?
